Finally, my craft room is together.

Despite some design flaws (the card table sure does shake when I sew), I can’t wait to spend time in my new room. When we first moved into our home, this room was set out as “The Art Room” and quickly became my daughter’s 2nd bedroom. Both rooms were soon overrun with bits of fabric, yarn, pipe cleaners, buttons and popsicle sticks. Seeing as she has the largest bedroom in the house and to make it easy for her to make one large radical mess in ONE room, we overhauled her room a couple of weekends ago to make space for her art supplies. I then set to task to unpack and layout my new space. I have promised to share the reincarnated room with my daughter but the space is mine and I love it!

I have everything set out for the first time ready to sew, glue, crochet and knit together into whatever I fancy. Aside from the purchase I will mention for my newest item mentioned below (and nylon to make Super Bowl flags!), I have restricted myself from buying any major art or crafting supplies. Surveying my stash, this shouldn’t be too hard. I know from reading other crafting blogs I don’t have nearly as much as others- what I have should last me at least half a year. We’ll see. Here are the rules:

  1. No major purchases of supplies.
  2. I can purchase notions, but only once my own stash has been substantially utilized.
  3. I can purchase fabric for clothes for Pie-pie and myself and maybe a yard or two for a handbag or two but only after attempts on fabric I have on-hand are completed.

My reasons for the limits are not only economical but to give me a creative boost. I’ve asked my sweetheart to build a better sewing table. For now I’ll keep my sewing speed in first gear. I am making itty-bitty things at the moment anyway because my Blythe doll is here!
