Valentine's this year was my second one spent with Phillip. On our first we were pretty new to each other and as I recall we were still trying to figure each other out, (still am, but getting better at it), and surprised and delighted with each other (still are). I am grateful to have such a great friend in him and have never felt more respected or cherished. Swoon . . . Here is the very lovely dinner he made Piehead and I. She was still a bit under the weather from the day before and entirely exhausted from a Valentine's activities at school. She opted for just crackers and water over the Beef Wellington, rosemary/garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus and carrots we had. We had yet to dive into the cake Piehead had made the day before. She lost her gusto for the project because of her tummy ills, so I frosted and decorated the cake in her absence. She finally had some 4 days later. Dinner followed by gin where Phillip just barely beat me, again.
